PSA Gold Sanding Disc Used for Surface Finishing

Gold Sanding Discs - PSA sanding discs
Gold Sanding Discs

PSA gold stearate sanding discs are made with premium aluminum oxide grain. Non-loading gold aluminum oxide sticky back sanding discs are suitable for most lacquer and polyurethane finishes on woods. Their non-loading pressure sensitive paper reduces dust and grit contamination. The sanding discs are available in stacked or roll packages to suit your shops needs.

Sticky backed abrasive sanding discs are available in a series of grits - choose from 40 Grit to 600 Grit.  The most common grits used for removing surface scratches on metal are 150, 180 and 240 grit.  This enables a step down process for surface scratch removal depending upon the depth of the surface scratches.

Gold stearate sanding discs used with a random orbital sander such as a Dynabrade 56815 Dynorbital Supreme is an effective combination for removing surface scratches on metals and alloys such as stainless steel and pot metal.  Both 5” PSA gold stearate sanding discs and 6 inch pressure sensitive sanding discs are available to fit a wide array of sanders.

This video shows a Dynabrade Dynorbital Supreme random orbital sander using a 5" #180 PSA gold stearate sanding disc - AA Abrasives part # 59031 -to remove surface scratches on an automotive door handle cast from pot metal. Pot metal also known as white metal or die cast zinc is an alloy comprised of low melting point metals. Zinc is generally the primary component alloyed with a combination of tin, aluminum and copper.  Pot metal is used in the automotive industry for door handles and hood ornaments.
