Abrasive Sanding Belts

AA Abrasives premium zirconia and aluminum oxide abrasive belts deliver sharp and durable performance. Resin bond anchors the abrasive to the backing for longer belt life. The abrasive belts feature bi-directional, high-strength butt joints that can be run in either direction increasing the total service life of the belt. Our high quality abrasive belts are for wood, metal and heavy stock removal. AA Abrasives sanding belts are made from the finest quality materials for long life and are manufactured in the USA.

AA Abrasives has a full line of heavy-duty cloth-backed abrasive belts in stock. One of the best 6 x 48 sanding belts we supply is a self-sharpening 36 Grit zirconia aluminum abrasive belt.  This premium zirconia alumina abrasive belt for metal delivers sharp and durable performance. The premium grade zirconia alumina breaks away in use to expose new sharp edges. The abrasive is bonded to the Y-weight polyester backing with industrial strength proprietary resins in a closed coat arrangement to allow maximum stock removal. A closed coated abrasive belt is one that has 100% grain coverage.  Heavy Y-weight polyester backing is tear resistant and tracks consistently.

The two most popular Aluminum Oxide abrasive belts in 6x48 are the 6 x 48 Sanding Belt in 60 Grit Aluminum Oxide Premium  and the 6 x 48 Sanding Belt in 80 Grit Aluminum Oxide Premium. The premium aluminum oxide abrasive belts cut fast and perform well on all grains of woods  as well as other surfaces. AA Abrasives belts have a closed coat construction making them ideal for deburring or producing a grain pattern in metalworking. The closed coat construction provides improved finishes on harder woods. Y-weight poly-cotton backing makes a good general purpose belt for dry sanding applications. The resin bond of this sanding belt withstands high heat and pressure for longer service life.

For polishing applications AA Abrasives, Inc. carries a full range of preparation and conditioning abrasive belts in 6” wide x 48” long such as the 6 x 48 Medium Surface Conditioning Belt. These non-woven nylon belts have a scrim reinforcement for extra strength and an abrasive resin bond which polishes and deburrs metal surfaces. They are available in coarse, medium, and fine.

The Line-Mate III drum sander kit has set a new standard in industrial line finishing. The Walter Line-Mate III combines power with endurance, operator comfort and an unsurpassed level of smoothness to get you to your desired finish. With the Line-Mate Kit 30-A 269 from Walter Surface Technologies, skilled operators will be able to match any line finish with minimum effort.

The Walter Line Mate III Kit Includes:

There are three types of drums included in the Walter Line-Mate III Kit, a pneumatic drum, a Blendex™ Drum and a Two-in-One drum.

The Walter 07-F-051 pneumatic drum which is 5-3/8" in width and 3-1/2” in diameter and comes standard in the Line-Mate III kit. The inflatable rubber drum air cools your abrasives increasing sandpaper life by reducing heat build up. In addition, it allows more flexibility  by conforming to both convex and concave surfaces. The pneumatic drum will hold assorted sandpaper belts and surface conditioning sleeves and abrasive belts. Abrasive sandpaper belts and Blendex belt sleeves are available in various grits or grades. The Blendex belts are comparable to the Norton Bear-Tex® Non-Woven Surface Finishing Belts or the  3M™Scotch-Brite™ Surface Conditioning Abrasive Belts.

The second type of drum is a Walter Blendex 07-M-443 Medium Drum. This is a medium grit drum. The Blendex drum is available separately in an assortment of grits and sizes. The Blendex drum can be used to polish, burnish, deburr, clean and brighten stainless steel, aluminum, brass, copper and other alloys. 

The third drum included with the Walter Line-Mate III Kit is the Two-in-One drum.  This drum combines two finishing processes into one. The coated abrasive cloth cuts aggressively while the interleaved Blendex flaps create a satin line finish. Walter Two-in-One drum in the 4" diameter  is included in the kit.

The Walter Line-Mate III Kit 30-A 269 includes 6 cloth drum belts and 2 Blendex drum belts. Cloth Drum Belts help establish line finishes, level off welds and remove scratches, paint, scale and rust. These abrasive belts are designed to last longer by implementing a tape butt joint which assists in both higher removal rate and longer abrasive belt life.

Included in the Walter Line-Mate III Kit 30-A 269:

• Two belts of Walter Abrasives 07-F-506 5-3/8” 60 Grit TopCut Drum Belt
• Two belts of Walter Abrasives 07-F-508 5-3/8” #80 Grit TopCut Drum Belt
• Two belts of Walter Abrasives 07-F-511 5-3/8" #120 Grit TopCut Drum Belt

Walter Blendex Drum Belts - these abrasive belts are excellent for creating a decorative finish. The Blendex Drum belts will clean and condition large metal surfaces. Walter Blendex Drum Belts are made of non-woven material so they can simultaneously polish, burnish, deburr, and blend giving a uniform and consistent finish over the life of the drum belts. Blendex drum belts are capable of providing a wide shadow free finish. These belts are comparable to the Norton Bear-Tex® Non-Woven Surface Finishing Belts or the  3M™Scotch-Brite™ Surface Conditioning Abrasive Belts.

One medium Blendex belt and one coarse Blendex belt is included in the LineMate Kit.

Walter Blendex Linear Finishing  Abrasive Drum Belt 07-H-503 Medium is used in conditioning and removing surface imperfections.

Walter Blendex Linear Finishing  Abrasive Drum Belt 07-H-502 Coarse

is used for tougher cleaning or removal of rusting or scratches.
