Aluminum
oxide sanding belts can be used on all metals and both hard and soft woods.
Standard grade aluminum oxide belts have an x-weight backing and are used as a
general purpose approach to sanding wood and sanding metal. Premium grade
aluminum oxide abrasive sanding belts have a y-weight, poly-cotton backing .
More grain and a heavier backing on the premium sanding belt results in a
better finish and longer life. Open coat, poly-cotton aluminum oxide sanding
belts are also available and have a specially coated backing which provides
high performance for washable sanding belts. This coated abrasive sanding belt
is great for hard and soft woods and soft metals. Wider grain placement helps
the belt in loading applications. Aluminum oxide sanding belts are also
available in a flexible, j-weight are backed with 100% Egyptian cotton, which
allows the belt to last longer. The flexibility facilitates sanding on most
contour surfaces. This premium, heat treated abrasive grain allows sharper
cutting and more consistent finishes. These sanding belts are great on
non-ferrous metals such as aluminum, brass, hard woods, and plastics. Aluminum
oxide j-weight plus sanding belts are also made with 100% Egyptian cotton
backing and have a grinding aid that not only cools, but acts as an
anti-clogging agent. J-flex sanding belts will conform to highly contoured
surfaces and provide superior finishing and polishing. These abrasive sanding
belts are excellent for finishing chrome, stainless steel, brass, titanium,
bronze and hard woods.
Silicon
carbide wet or dry Y-weight polyester sanding belts are designed for the heavy
duty, aggressive grinding applications. Silicon carbide sanding belts are 100%
waterproof and are sharp cutting. These abrasive sanding belts are used for
grinding and sanding on non-ferrous metals, marble, plastic, glass, rubber and
fiberglass.
Zirconia
alumina sanding belts are resin bonded and closed coated. They are aggressive
and self sharpening. This sanding belt is excellent on stainless and other
tough metals. Zirconia alumina plus sanding belts have a grinding aid for a
cooler cut and faster stock removal on stainless steel. They are resin bonded
and closed coated. They are aggressive and self sharpening while grinding and
sanding. Zirconia alumina sanding belts are excellent on stainless and other
tough metals.
Ceramic
grain sanding belts are also resin bonded and closed coated. This belt outlasts
both aluminum oxide and zirconia alumina belts while cutting faster and cooler.
This sanding belt is best suited for grinding and sanding stainless and other
tough metals.
